Economy Added 243,000 Jobs in January

January's jobs report was better than expected. Analysts were expecting an increase of 150,000 jobs. The economy added 243,000 jobs and the unemployment rate fell to 8.3% from 8.5%.

Retailers added 11,000 jobs, leisure and hospitality added 44,000 jobs and factories added 50,000 workers. Construction jobs increased by 21,000. The BBC says the construction increase could be linked to the mild U.S. winter.
