U.S. Added 165,000 Jobs in April
It is starting to look a little better for jobs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the U.S. added 165,000 jobs in April. The unemployment remained unchanged at 7.5%.The biggest gains were in professional and business services, which added 73,000 jobs and in leisure and hospitality, which added 38,000 jobs. Retail trade employment added 29,000 jobs.
There were also some positive revisions. The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for February was revised from +268,000 to +332,000, and the change for March was revised from +88,000 to +138,000.
